The regionPorrino

The Rosa Porrino is explored around the town of Porrino Mos, which is located in the region of Galicia - northwest of Spain. The name Porrino comes from the surname of the Ghovary king: El Pueril (from the Latin word puerilis). The town started to be known as Hijos de Puerilis (Puerilis sons), from where the name of the actual Porrino was derived.

Later in history the Romans introduced new production tecniques and it is believed that it was then the beggining of the granite quarry work, with the Roman town of Porrino as the most important supplier of this material for the construction projects done all over the northwest of Spain.
